Why do you enjoy your job?

On the Investment20/20 scheme here at Columbia Threadneedle Investments you do two rotations. I have completed six months working within the corporate communication team and am now working within the Operation Risk team. I am always learning about new areas of the business and working with a range of people to develop my personal and technical skills within the workplace.

How did you get into your job?

I came straight out of sixth form aged 18 and applied through Investment2020 to Columbia Threadneedle Investments. I decided to apply because I was unsure whether I would enjoy university life and I am happy with the decision that I made. Investment2020 gave me the opportunity to get my foot in the door of a big asset manager allowing me to showcase my skills and also develop a variety of skills.

What are your future aspirations?

My immediate aspiration will be to secure a permanent role at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Future aspiration would be to work my way up the corporation ladder to hopefully one day be manager of a team.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Investment20/20 has provided me with invaluable and enriching opportunities during my time on the programme. This has included meeting trainees from across the industry with similar interests and experiences, as well as industry insights events which help to educate and inspire future career paths. I have also been fortunate enough to be a member of the Investment20/20 forum where the central aim is to create experiences that are beneficial for trainees.
