Emma Woodley

Client Reporting Trainee |
School/College Leaver

Why do you enjoy your job?

My 12 months will entail time spent in three different departments: client reporting, RFP (Request for Proposal) and client services. This will allow me a much wider perspective of the company and as a school leaver it is all new information. I thoroughly enjoy the chance to learn constantly as I am surrounded by employees with a wealth of knowledge and experience about this industry, and I learn something new every day.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Jargon is always initially a challenge when you enter a new industry. So during the first few weeks it was a job alone just to learn and understand all of the different things that were being talked about.

How did you get into your job?

I applied to Columbia Threadneedle Investments through the Investment20/20 scheme as a school leaver. I wanted to explore avenues other than just university, so registered with the Investment20/20 email subscription to find out about opportunities or events that might interest me. I attended an open morning for Columbia Threadneedle Investments and was interested, so applied.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Invaluable experience and knowledge gained in the financial industry.
