Why do you enjoy your job?

Being an apprentice is very enjoyable, since the work is always different. The programme involves a role change every four months, giving you a wide range of experiences in a lot of different departments. You have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and also to meet a lot of people from all over the business, allowing a better understanding of different people’s roles.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

For me the most challenging thing about my job is getting used to the jargon in the different departments. Every department has its own jargon that is used every day within teams, and it can take a while to learn. By the time you are clued up on the jargon, you are moving into another team and have to do it all over again. So far my rotation within IT has had the most jargon to learn.

How did you get into your job?

I joined the apprenticeship programme straight from school after I went to Africa for two months. I had a place at university to study business but decided to go down the employment route, and I haven’t looked back since.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspiration is to keep progressing in whatever career I am in. I do not want to just get satisfied and stay where I am, I want to keep improving and trying different things.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

The scheme is a great way to get your foot in the door of the industry and kick-start your career.
