Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy working within Operations as it gives me a great opportunity to interact with various areas in the business. Liaising with various departments on a day to day basis allows me to see how each department affects the wider business.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging part of my job is learning the ‘lingo’. Everyone knows that this industry has an abbreviation for everything! Once I had undertaken various training courses and spent time within my role I soon got to grips with this and it has now become second nature.

How did you get into your job?

I had heard from a friend about the Investment20/20 trainee scheme at Janus Henderson and how it was a great way to get your foot in the door within the industry. I applied online via the Janus Henderson website and was invited to do a video interview and from there a face to face interview. I wanted to go into a career within the investment sector but found it difficult without prior experience.

What are your future aspirations?

I enjoy my role within operations and would like to stay here until I have gained greater industry knowledge. From there I would like to try various different roles within the business.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Investment20/20 has given me the best possible start in an industry where I had no prior experience, through the various training sessions, insight days and networking events. The team at Investment20/20 has great advice to give, and is a great place to build a strong foundation for a career in the investment industry.
