Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy my job because each day creates a new challenge. It is very rare that any two days are the same due to the varied problems that can arise with regards to dividend payments. These problems can range from tax reclaims on stock lending all the way to part payments. There is often a fair amount of problem solving which creates a sense of achievement once you understand the problem. My job allows me to communicate with many teams across the company which allows me to see how their work affects ours. The learning opportunity my job creates is very good, it provides exposure to many different areas of operations including settlements, corporate actions, stock lending, asset servicing and control and more.

How did you get into your job?

I joined M&G as an Apprentice in April 2016. I applied after I had completed the International Baccalaureate.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to complete the relevant professional qualifications, namely the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and to progress into an investment role as a fund managers assistant within Fixed Income.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Investment20/20 provides incredible exposure to personal experiences and networking. There are countless events where there are experienced members of the industry sharing their personal journeys whilst providing advice to all attendees. There are also several social events throughout the year which allow you to meet members of the industry who are in similar positions.
