Nicole Vale

Client Platform and Controls Analyst |
School/College Leaver

Why do you enjoy your job?

I work in institutional client services, supporting the client account managers. My team implements, controls and runs reports to ensure that accounts are not breaching regulations or investment agreements. I enjoy this job as I get to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including counterparties in the US and the EMEA.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Prioritising jobs which come up on a daily, weekly and monthly basis alongside other ad hoc project style requests from other teams within the business.

How did you get into your job?

I am a school leaver, completed my A-levels in summer 2016 and started the 12 month Investment20/20 internship in September 2016. Being able to gain a professional qualification alongside working has allowed me to quickly develop my knowledge of industry. I have begun to build a strong network across various levels of the business and I will be entering a new role within J.P. Morgan as of May 2017 on a permanent contract.

What are your future aspirations?

My current aspiration is to work in distribution as I feel my personality is more suited to a client facing role rather than a technical role, however I am open to which ever route my career takes me as I understand that reaching a goal isn’t always a straight road.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

It has helped me to develop an excellent grounding within the asset management industry.
