Why do you enjoy your job?
I find my job very creative and engaging, I’m constantly developing my knowledge and challenging my understating of the industry. In my role I spend a lot of time looking at large chunks of data – this may sound mundane, but in reality it’s a very creative task that requires interpreting numbers and data in a way that tells an interesting story that is comprehensible to everyone. It makes my role challenging yet rewarding.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Dealing with large chunks of data requires an impeccable amount of focus and attention to detail, and one tiny mistake can set back days of work – I found that challenging and frustrating at times, however as time has passed and my confidence has grown the process has become a lot easier.
How did you get into your job?
As part of my university degree I was looking for a placement year and stumbled across the Investment20/20 scheme. I’ve always been fascinated by the financial industry and thought this would be a great opportunity to get my foot in the door. This has been the best decision, not only is Invesco a brilliant company that really prioritises your career progression, the Investment20/20 scheme has been great at supporting me and giving me opportunities.
