Why do you enjoy your job?

My daily routine includes answering client queries and sending out reports such as valuations and performance figures. We interact with various parts of the business which is definitely my favourite part as we talk to lots of different people every day.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging aspect of my job is balancing everyday tasks with queries that come in and in turn I have learnt to prioritise tasks and manage my time efficiently.

How did you get into your job?

I graduated from Newcastle University in July 2017 with a degree in Politics and Sociology. I started looking for jobs at the beginning of my third year with no real idea as to what I wanted to do. I met with an alumni of the University who told me about Investment 2020 which I went on to research and apply for my job at Investec.

What are your future aspirations?

For now I really want to stay doing what I’m doing in Client Operations as it will help me to understand more about the business and help me to decide what I want to do in the future.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

So far it has been a great experience, I have learnt a huge amount about both myself and the company. I would recommend the scheme to anyone that think they might be interested as it gives you a fantastic insight into the working world.

*Investec Asset Management is now Ninety One.
