Why do you enjoy your job?

I work closely with Information Security, Risk and Compliance and have visibility on what Legal and Financial Crime do. I enjoy the role I do because the information I deal with is often of a sensitive nature and can involve some investigation. I get an oversight of all parts of the business so I have learnt a lot about the company in a small space of time.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Understanding the jargon and abbreviations is really difficult at first. There were so many words I didn’t understand that were being used and it took me a while to get to recognise and understand them.

How did you get into your job?

I applied for this job towards the end of Sixth Form when I decided I didn’t want to go to university. I didn’t know what I wanted to do so I thought this programme would be perfect as it would give me a year’s work experience in a corporate environment and help point me in the right direction for my future. Being a part of this programme has shown me that there are more types jobs than you originally realise there are when you come out of school and opened my eyes to so many more career opportunities.

What are your future aspirations?

Honestly, I don’t know where I see my future going, but what I can say is that the Investment20/20 programme has helped to start it off in the right direction. You don’t always need to know what’s coming next, just take every good opportunity you can find and make the most of it.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Exciting and eye-opening!
