Skye Lewinton

Operations Trainee |
School/College Leaver

Why do you enjoy your job?

Within my role I have been able to rotate through the various departments within operations. I have been in Client Documentation, Loans and Wealth Planning Support, all of these have been very different and I have been able to learn and get a better understanding of the business. I have enjoyed all of these departments as they have all been very busy and there has been so much to learn.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

I would say the most challenging thing about my role is prioritizing as everything you get given is very important and all are urgent. This means that you have to find a way to deal with all urgent requests meaning delegation is necessary.

How did you get into your job?

I am a school leaver, however I finished my courses early and started working for 8 months at an accident management company prior to joining Schroders. Working at the accident management company enabled me to gain experience in the working environment which helped me adapt when joining the scheme. Investment20/20 has helped me establish my career as it has given me an insight into the industry and they also have arranged lots of events which helps you understand the industry as a whole.

What are your future aspirations?

Working in this industry has helped me realise that I do want to stay in the financial industry and I am now looking at more exams I can take in order to succeed in my career.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

I have been very lucky to have had this opportunity. The scheme is basically a full time job with training and everyone is extremely supportive.
