Why do you enjoy your job?
I am currently working within a client account management team helping to service institutional clients ranging from sovereign wealth funds to large corporations and central banks.
This might sound somewhat like a cliché but in financial services it is all about the people and that is what makes my job enjoyable. I enjoy that I am given the opportunity to talk with senior professionals within the industry on a daily basis. Everyone no matter their level of seniority has the time and patience for new employees and is always willing to explain more about their role and how our functions interact.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
In my role on a day-to-day basis there are a variety of tasks to be completed. At times this involves having to stop a longer more analytical task instantly for a time sensitive task. This was a challenge for me as I have to be able to juggle my workload and be ready to continue with the longer task as soon as the time sensitive task is complete.
How did you get into your job?
Before joining the Investment20/20 scheme at JP Morgan I gained a First Class Distinction in Finance, Investment and Risk from the London Institute of Banking and Finance. I was certain about a career in financial services from a young age and chose my degree hoping it would give me a foundation of knowledge to succeed in my career.
Being part of the Investment20/20 scheme has aided me in developing my soft skills, helping me become a more rounded individual. Additionally I believe that Investment20/20 has given me a foot in the door to a large financial institution and the opportunity to continue with a career in finance.
How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?
Investment20/20 is what you make it. If you are prepared to work hard then there is no doubt that you will see the benefits.
