Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy my job because right from the start I have been given a lot of responsibilities that really make me feel like I add value to the team and the business. I’ve learnt so much from the people around me in such a short space of time, I never expected a “trainee” role to be so action packed!

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

I think the most challenging thing about my job is that I’ve been put into a brand new team that has just been created. This means that there are certain knowledge gaps and sometimes it’s difficult to find the right person to help me.

How did you get into your job?

I left school with A Levels looking to break into the finance industry, after being unsuccessful in a number of applications I settled for working in an administrative role within a psychometric testing company. I decided I would stay there for 2 years to pad out my CV and then re-apply for the roles I previously was not accepted into. 2 years later I’ve achieved my goal and am working for a well respected FTSE 100 company within the finance industry.

What are your future aspirations?

I’m really happy with how my career has started off. I feel the knowledge I’ve accumulated and the foundations I have built will aid me to push into whatever career path I choose to follow. I’m currently of the opinion I want work in sales but at the moment I’m happy to see what Schroders has got planned for me.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Fulfilling, enjoyable & a good opportunity to meet likeminded people.
