Why do you enjoy your job?

My role is in the EMEA Digital Marketing team as a Digital Marketing Analyst. I am mainly responsible for collecting data from emails and reporting this back to the Marketing Managers – I am also responsible for posting new content onto the social media platforms. I create reports gathering analysis on user interaction on our websites. The great thing about this role is that I am exposed to different aspects of the business, which provides me with a greater understanding of the importance of my day-to-day tasks, and how they impact others in the firm. My role allows me to work with other teams, which gives me a wider understanding of the asset management industry.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging thing about my role is understanding and getting to grips with all the different systems to create our analytical reports on. These are not easy systems to understand immediately, so to try and overcome this difficulty, I regularly look up training to enhance my skillset, and be of greater value to the firm.

How did you get into your job?

After completing my A-levels I knew that I didn’t want to go straight to university as I wanted to gain experience within a workplace. I also had previous experience in a marketing role and thoroughly enjoyed it, so when I discovered the role at AllianceBernstein through Investment20/20 I thought it was a great opportunity and applied immediately.

What are your future aspirations?

I would love to stay on at AB, and gain another years’ experience, but as for university I may apply in the future. I would like to take further exams to increase my knowledge of the asset management industry, and to also increase my chances at developing my role within the firm. My main goals/aspirations as of right now are to gain as much experience as I can to really develop and give my CV a professional boost.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

I would sum my Investment20/20 experience so far to be educational and to be a great first step towards a career in finance. The Investment20/20 team do the absolute most to make sure all trainees are satisfied within their roles and that they’re also getting the most out of this experience. The events and training days the team organise are a great way to network and meet others in different roles and companies – it’s also a great way to be exposed to other roles within the asset management sector.
