Why do you enjoy your job?

As part of the funds team I work on a number of fund related activities including fund launches, liquidations, In Species and any ad-hoc requests. We act as a central port of call for Portfolio Managers and liaise with different teams on their before to ensure operational set-up is accurate and complete. Having studied Finance at university and being a CFA Level II candidate my general understanding of financial instruments has allowed me to transition seamlessly to the role.

I find my role extremely interesting given is wide ranging nature. I communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders which has allowed me to get involved and understand the role and function of different teams at JP Morgan Asset Management.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Time management, organisation and communication I would say are 3 key features of my role. Particular tasks need to be actioned / completed before a particular time so ensuring these tasks have taken place is key to delivering a successful initiative. Being able to communicate ideas, tasks and information are pivotal to a project management role and ensuring that all stakeholders understand their tasks is a must.

With so much going on at once, keeping on top of everything is challenging. Being organised, allows me to keep on track of all my projects but also enables me to prioritise work and ensure that I understand everything that is going on.

How did you get into your job?

I graduated from University of Reading, ICMA Centre, in July 2017. I studied BSc (Hons.) Finance and Investment Banking which set me on my path into the industry. I have passed CFA Level 1 and I am currently a CFA Level II candidate. Before joining JPMAM, I interned at Invesco Perpetual and Handelsbanken Wealth Management.

What are your future aspirations?

My short term aspirations include getting a Full Time role at JP Morgan Asset Management and to pass CFA Level II and Level III as quickly as I can. Personally, I want to learn as much as I can in the hope of being an important member of whatever team I work in.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

“There is no such thing as a stupid question”
