Why do you enjoy your job?

I work in the cyber security team at Schroders and my main job role is incident response. This involves protecting the business and employees from external threats such as scams, exploits and malware. This is certainly the most enjoyable and engaging part of my job as I have always had an interest in information security and the effects of cybercrime on business.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging part of my job is keeping up to speed with the cybercrime industry and understanding the current threats to the financial sector. Change and innovation happens almost daily and as challenging as this can be to manage it creates a fascinating working environment.

How did you get into your job?

I finished A-Levels and decided that university wasn’t for me. I’d always wanted to get into the world of business and start working as soon as possible. I worked for two and a half years in a local retail display company learning how the world of work operates. I valued my time there but wanted to get into a more technical career as well as moving to a larger company, preferably in the city. I began to search for opportunities and heard about the Investment20/20 programme at Schroders which offered me exactly what I wanted, a step into technology and a step into London.

What are your future aspirations?

My future aspirations are to continue my career as an aspiring information security professional. The industry is extremely popular at the moment and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

My Investment20/20 experience has been invaluable and comes highly recommended.
