Lewis Cowling

Performance Trainee |
School/College Leaver

Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy feeling a valued part of the performance team, with my own responsibilities and deadlines. Performance has also given me a great oversight and understanding of the industry, reporting across different strategies to different areas in the business (client, product and investment desks etc.).

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The initial adjustment from school to work life was challenging: different hours, longer commute, learning new systems, skills and gaining an understanding of the industry all at the same time. It is quite a lot to take in at first.

How did you get into your job?

I came straight from sixth form after studying A levels.

What are your future aspirations?

After the Investment20/20 programme I would like to continue my career in the investment industry. This may be after going to university to study Economics and International Relations or straight into another job in the industry.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

I would highly recommend the Investment20/20 scheme, whatever path you wish to take into the industry. Gaining valuable work experience, qualifications, advice and networks all whilst being paid! Investment20/20 brings you into the real investment industry, potentially straight from school a massive advantage over other graduates or job candidates.
