Why do you enjoy your job?

Working in Middle Office within the operations department gives me the opportunity to gain a great amount of exposure to the role and industry as I go back and forth with both internal and external teams, whether it is the trading desk at Sanford C Bernstein or another Middle Office at some of the top Investment banks in the world. The role is well suited to me as I have an interest in the trading side of the business along with financial markets so it’s a great opportunity to get my foot into the door of the industry.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging thing about my role is that it was like learning a whole new language with numerous acronyms and terms. Luckily working around them every day helps pick them up a lot quicker!

How did you get into your job?

I came into this role straight from Sixth Form, where I studied Maths, PE and Economics at A level. I always knew I wanted to go into a financial role with key interests in trading and financial markets. Investment20/20 gave me the opportunity to see what is out there, especially in the Financial Services industry with all the Insight days along with all of the jobs that they offer online.

What are your future aspirations?

I would like to advance in my role and complete the exams that the company offers to help increase my knowledge and understanding of the industry so I can develop in my role within the firm. Along with this I would like to increase my experience in the role.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

‘It has been challenging but it has been completely worth it for both the experience, and the knowledge gained.’
