Why do you enjoy your job?

I can honestly say my job has made a positive impact on my personal growth and development. I spend the majority of my days at work liaising with different stakeholders within the company as well as external brokers on queries regarding the onboarding of Foreign Exchange accounts. This includes due diligence and providing constitutional documents before the fund can be onboarded. Interacting with individuals on different teams within J.P. Morgan has enhanced my knowledge very quickly at an early stage in my career. As quite an outgoing person I feel like my current job role is perfect for me and I have loved every minute, I cannot believe how much I have learned in almost 9 months.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

One of the most challenging aspects of my job was getting to grips with all the terminology used on a daily basis. Although I am still learning new jargon every day, my team are great at explaining anything I am unsure of. I found myself picking up some of the terminology pretty quickly which I now use in my daily job role.

How did you get into your job?

I am a school leaver so I started at J.P. Morgan Asset Management the September after my A-Levels. I have never been interested in going to University and from around my last year of Secondary school I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the financial industry up in London. I spoke to a recruiter from Investment20/20 at a careers fair in my last year of sixth form and applied straight away when I heard a number of well-established Investment/Asset Management companies were looking to hire school leavers as interns.

What are your future aspirations?

I would love to excel in my career working at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. I am currently working towards my Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) qualification and would like to complete further industry recognised qualifications throughout my career.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

I would recommend Investment20/20 to any school leaver/graduate who wants to work within the financial sector. The corporate events and trainee socials offered by Investment20/20 give an amazing chance to network with people your own age from different firms and I have made friends for life all down to the events offered. Investment20/20 is a great way to get your foot in the door for a successful career in the finance industry.
