Why do you enjoy your job?
I am really enjoying my job and the culture at M&G where the people are friendly, supportive and approachable and it makes networking around the business easy. I am working in two teams so I see two different sides of HR and it helps with learning about the industry and the role of each department. I was worried when I joined the company that I would be treated differently as an apprentice with little experience. However, this isn’t the case as you are really made to feel like one of the team.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
I think the most challenging part of my job is working in two teams and meeting two sets of deadlines. This has made me improve my time management skills and efficiency as I have to make sure I understand when each piece of work is needed. Although I find this a challenging part of my job, the team is always willing to give me support and advice on anything I need.
How did you get into your job?
I found out about M&G, its business and available roles through the Investment20/20 website and I applied for the job while at sixth form. I started after my A-Levels.
What are your future aspirations?
My future aspirations are to continue to work and learn more about the business and industry that I am in. I would like to experience more areas of the business and learn more about each department and the different roles people do. I would like to move my way up through the business.
How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?
Without Investment20/20, I would not have found out about my job. Investment20/20 has really helped with settling in and finding out more about the industry – the different events help you to feel comfortable at work and to learn more.
