Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy the wide range of areas I get to be a part of within Reward and the impact that my job has upon every other area in the company. It means that my days are always varied, and it gives me the opportunity to meet people across the business. And given I help people get paid, they’re always keen to meet me too!

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The sheer volume of information that I need to take in at any one time. Whilst having a varied role is definitely a positive, there is so much information that I need to be able to call upon when required, which can be quite overwhelming!

How did you get into your job?

After university, I had no idea what I wanted to do, and so I had a few jobs which I didn’t enjoy and didn’t stay in for very long. However, they helped me work out that HR might be a good place for me to look. After a couple of months of applications, I found Jupiter, and the Investment20/20 scheme has helped me find a role where I can learn on the job and find out what works for me.

What are your future aspirations?

It’s hard to tell at this stage, however, I’d be keen to learn more both in depth within my role, so that I can make myself useful, and about the broader department. It would be great to have a rounded experience of HR, so that I can use that to choose my career path. Any qualifications I can pick on the way would be a plus as well.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Very positive. It’s a scheme where you don’t have to be perfect from the off, so as long as you’re willing to learn, you can make the most of it. There are loads of courses to get you up to speed and you can build up a great network for the future.
