Programme information
You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12 month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.
Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.
Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave. All roles are based in London.
Programme Summary
This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.
Responsibilities include
The London Middle Office team supports local investment teams (Emerging Markets, Global Fixed Income and Leverage Loans) and acts as the central point of contact on operational matters for UK clients. We keep position records accurate, valuations consistent, and reporting delivered on time.
This is a 1-year Fixed Term Internship. Training will be provided. You will be doing real work from day one.
The main responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following:
· Perform Cash, NAV and Holding reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies until full resolution.
· Settlement oversight, margin calls and collateral management.
· Client reporting delivery and support for the reporting automation programme.
· Currency funding for exotic currency trades.
· Support Business Implementation on fund launches and mandate onboardings as required.
· Get involved in business projects and new initiatives beyond day-to-day operations — there will be no shortage of interesting problems to work on.
· Active contribution to Middle Office controls and efficiency projects.
· Building models and forming independent views before reaching for tools or automation — you need to understand the logic before you accelerate it.
· Identifying where technology can transform how we work and helping to build those solutions.
· Challenging existing processes — not just improving them, but questioning whether they should exist at all.
· Contributing original ideas on what the Middle Office of the future looks like and helping shape it.
· Proactively reducing errors and improving the tools and reports the team relies on daily.
The role holder will adhere to FCA rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures. Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from Head of Compliance.
