The Role
As a Private Credit Investment apprentice your role will support the development, delivery and presentation of our private credit investment proposition to clients. The role sits at the intersection of investments and client engagement, making it ideal for someone who is passionate about private markets and enjoys translating complex investment strategies into clear, compelling client-facing narratives.
You will work closely with fund managers, investment teams, client directors and client-facing colleagues to help position private credit strategies, support fundraising and client communication, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the firm’s private markets offering.

What will you be doing?
As a Private Credit Investment Apprentice you will:
• Support the development and articulation of the private credit investment proposition across different strategies
• Help translate complex investment concepts into clear, client-friendly materials
• Assist in preparing client presentations, pitch decks, factsheets, and marketing materials
• Support responses to client and consultant due diligence questionnaires (DDQs / RFPs)
• Contribute to thought leadership content such as market updates, commentaries, and insights
• Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s private credit strategies, portfolio construction, and performance drivers
• Monitor market trends in private credit and private markets more broadly
• Conduct competitor analysis and help position strategies effectively versus peers
• Support internal teams with research on investor needs and market developments
• Work closely with fund managers and investment professionals to gather insights on portfolios and transactions
• Collaborate with client directors to support preparation of investment updates for clients, including quarterly and ad hoc reporting
• Attend investment meetings where appropriate to build product knowledge and contribute to content development
• Assist with new product launches and updates to existing strategies
• Support roadshows, client meetings, and investor events (preparation and follow-up)
• Help maintain client and consultant databases and materials
What will I need to be successful in this role?
• Strong interest in private markets, private credit, and asset management and a keen interest to learn and develop in this space
• Prior exposure/interest in impact/ESG related matters is beneficial
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality presentation skills
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to explain complex topics in a clear and structured way
• Commercial mindset and interest in client needs
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
• Comfortable working with both technical investment professionals and client-facing teams
Minimum Requirements
• Available to start the apprenticeship programme in September 2026
• You must not be enrolled into another further education programme at the beginning of the programme
• Be a UK citizen or have proof of your right to work in the UK
• Living in England
• Minimum of Grade 4 in GCSE English and Mathematics
• Minimum of Grade C in Three A-Levels or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals
Training Provided
As a Private Credit Investment Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Investment Operations Level 4 Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses
Future Prospects
This is a fixed term contract for 18 – 23 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.
Salary
£26,900 per annum plus benefits
