Programme information
You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12 month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.
Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events. Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave. All roles are based in London.

Responsibilities include
The role of the Risk Trainee is to gain exposure to a Risk Management team in Asset Management. The role holder will support the implementation and reporting of Risk Management within Amundi UK. With oversight from the Enterprise Risk Manager, the role holder will work closely with key stakeholders and support on monitoring all aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management elements combining financial risk management (e.g., Investment, Market, Credit and Liquidity) with non-financial risk management (e.g., Operational Risk, Operational Resilience & Third-Party Risk Management).
A key element of the role is to gain understanding on traversal risk management, and start to support, prepare and quality ensure the transversal management information and associated reporting of the Risk information/analysis for the various governance committees (Amundi UK Risk Committee, Executive Committee, Board). This would include the performance and risk attribution management analysis of the funds managed in London (Global Fixed Income and Emerging Market business line) for the purposes of internal reporting.
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Support the Enterprise Risk Manager to prepare and validate reports and documents using data visualisation tool and various internal MI systems for various Amundi Committees
• Support and in time implement the automation and redesign of risk management processes and visualisation consistent with IT infrastructure.
• With guidance from the Enterprise Risk Manager, produce Performance Attribution management information ensuring accuracy with supporting commentary. Distribute the reports accordingly to Risk Teams and governance committees as required. Support and in time drive the transversal analysis and management reporting of Investment/Market, Liquidity, Credit and Operational Risks and linking where relevant to Fund performance measurement and drivers. This includes identification, escalation, independent analysis, quantification, oversight of remediation actions, assessment of permanent control & overseas services, compliant with Basel II, locally applicable regulations and Group’s policy.
• Support the 2nd line risk review and processing of Operational Error Notes. Record the error notes in in Group losses repository (Olimpia).
• Assist on maintaining, update, review documentation, schedules and statuses, meeting agendas and minutes, and follow up activities.
• Supporting the Enterprise Risk Manager as required.
• The role holder will adhere to FCA rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures.
Requirements
If you are a graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and has the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:
• The ideal candidate will be from a STEM background and self-starter, autonomous, good communicator, curious, detailed orientated, with a control and risk analysis mind-set.
• Working knowledge of programming language in Python or VBA
• Database management experience (SQL/Access) is preferable
• Strong data analysis capability and is able to pay attention to details
• Ability to adapt quickly to systems (in-house build tools)
• Proficient MS Office skill is essential, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI
• The individual should be have a basic understanding;
o Fixed Income and Emerging market and products
o Knowledge of Markets, Credit, Liquidity and Operational Risk principles and dynamic – VaR, Tracking Error, volatility
o Good appreciation of macro-economic fundamentals and impact on financial markets.
• Ability to communicate regarding identified problems with constraints
• Ability to prioritise between different tasks and produce quality results
• The candidate will be seated on the trading floor and have direct access to portfolio managers. They will be confident, thoughtful, measured and solution orientated.
• Problem solving ability
• Works well in a team, with open/pro-active communication skills
• Previous similar experience within Asset Management is preferable however, not required.

Salary £42,000
Successful candidates will be asked for a video interview with the hiring manager, followed by video interviews with the team and HR.
