MEET THE TEAM
Investment20/20 was the brainchild of Andrew Formica (CEO Jupiter Asset Management) and Nichola Pease (Former CEO – JO Hambro), who were driven by the mission to bring more diverse talent into all aspects of investment management.
Today we are delighted to be supported by a team of partners and individuals who are working to make Investment20/20 a success.

Karis StanderManaging DirectorKaris joined Investment20/20 in 2014 and under her leadership the organisation has seen more than 1,600 trainees enter the industry through over 50 partner firms. Karis has led a dedicated programme of grassroots outreach to over 3,700 schools, colleges and universities, aimed at developing the industry’s long-term talent pipeline by showcasing the opportunities it can offer to graduates and school leavers. On behalf of Investment20/20, Karis has collected the Financial News Award for Innovation in Asset Management and the Investment Week Women in Investment Award for Contribution to Diversity.

JENNY BARBERDIRECTOR OF CAREERS AND TALENTJenny has led careers programmes for a national education charity, and worked across schools, colleges and universities. Passionate about enabling young people to navigate their routes to successful careers. Previously she has worked with large financial and professional services firms in developing their education outreach strategies, employee engagement and volunteering activity, and work experience and apprenticeship programmes. In 2014, Jenny was awarded the Worshipful Company of Educators Masters Award. Jenny's passion about social mobility, diversity and inclusion has been central to her career and much of her work with employers. Jenny is a Member of the Board of Trustees for a local Multi Academy Trust in Southend.

GINA GRIESELCLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGERGina started work in the City for Williams & Glynns Bank in 1981. In 1984 Gina moved from retail banking into investment banking for County Natwest, Chemical Bank and latterly Yamaichi Bank. After a career break Gina worked for The Financial Skills Partnership as Client Portfolio Manager. In November 2014 Gina joined the team at Investment20/20 as Communications and Events Coordinator and is now Client Relationship Manager.

JULIET LEITHCLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGERJuliet joined Investment20/20 in January 2019 as Client Relationship Manager. She has been a communication skills training consultant for many years working across a variety of industries including financial services, advertising, PR, engineering and broadcasting and she ran her own business training consultancy, Stand Up for Business, for 5 years. Juliet is a former actor and stand-up comedian who has also had a career in television as a scriptwriter and producer.

Eloise LyonsDIGITAL MARKETING & TEAM CO-ORDINATOREloise joined the Investment20/20 team as a trainee, in February 2017. Since beginning her career, she has realised her passion for marketing and developing the Investment20/20 online presence. Her daily activities include looking after the social media channels, updating the website and creating email campaigns for students/education establishments registered to the website. Eloise’s aim is to improve Investment20/20’s online awareness.

Charlotte SmithPROGRAMME & TEAM CO-ORDINATORCharlotte Smith joined the Investment20/20 in-house team in February 2017 as a trainee administrator from College with BTEC and UAL diplomas in Musical Theatre as well a Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) Legal Secretaries Diploma. She has been involved in fund-raising for the RNLI as well as voluntary work for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund charity, and has worked as a team leader at her local theme park.

Nichola PeaseCo-Founder and Chair, Investment20/20Nichola Pease has over 35 years’ experience in the investment industry. As an English graduate she won a place at Kleinwort Benson, later moving to Citibank before Smith New Court where she built the European broking business. Nichola joined JO Hambro Capital Management Ltd as Chief Executive in 1998, becoming Deputy Chairman in 2008. She left the firm in 2011 following its takeover. Nichola was an independent non-executive Director of Schroders PLC until November 2019 and in March 2020 joined Jupiter as Chairman.

Andrew FormicaCo-Founder and Deputy Chair, Investment20/20 and Chief Executive Office, JupiterAndrew has over 25 years’ experience in the investment management. Before joining Jupiter he was CEO of Henderson Global Investors, becoming Co-Chief Executive of Janus Henderson on the merger with Janus Capital in 2017. During his time at Henderson and its predecessor businesses he held various roles including equity fund manager and head of equities. He previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Investment Association. He founded Investment20/20 in 2013 after successfully running a 3-year pilot programme at Henderson.

Chris CummingsChief Executive Officer, The Investment AssociationChris Cummings joined the Investment Association as Chief Executive in September 2016 following 5 years leading TheCityUK, and another 7 years as head of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA). He has advised HM Treasury on regulatory matters, served on advisory groups for business ministers and held senior posts in banking, insurance and consulting. He is a member of the Financial Conduct Authority's Regulatory Decisions Committee and Cass Business School’s Strategy Board and a Visiting Professor. He is a regular press columnist and speaker on issues of international competitiveness and regulation in financial services.

Marisa HallCo-Head, Thinking Ahead Institute, Willis Towers WatsonMarisa is a Co-Head in the Thinking Ahead Institute, a global not-for-profit research-led network that brings together asset owners and asset managers with a view of changing the investment industry for the benefit of the end saver and the planet. Prior to this, Marisa spent over a decade as a consultant providing investment advice to a number of large pension funds. She is a qualified actuary and sits on the board of London Women’s Forum and is also on the steering committee of #talkaboutblack.

Louise HoskingChief of staff, SchrodersLouise Hosking is Chief of Staff for Schroders supporting the CEO, Peter Harrison and his management team to grow the company in the context of its culture and strategy. She has 35 years’ experience in management, consulting and coaching and joined Schroders in 2008 with responsibility for talent management and development and in 2015 moved into Investment as Head of Organisational Development. Louise is an accredited business coach and certified by the British Psychological Society in psychometric testing. She has a MSc in Organisational Behaviour from Birkbeck, University of London.

Anne-Marie McConnonChief Marketing Officer, BNY Mellon Investment ManagementAnne-Marie McConnon is an internationally experienced Marketing Director currently working for BNY Mellon Investment Management. During her career, she has worked for some of the biggest names in finance and asset management including: M&G Investments, Barclays and Scottish Equitable, where she held a number of senior positions.

Richard MilesDirector of Corporate Affairs, M&GRichard Miles is Director of M&GPrudential Corporate Affairs, one of the UK’s leading international asset managers with more than £260 billion of funds under management. His team is responsible for all aspects of communications across Europe, Asia and the Americas, including public relations and public affairs. Prior to joining M&G, Richard was at Fidelity after a 15-year career as a journalist, including seven years writing about finance for The Times.

Kavish PatelGlobal Organisational Development Director, Ninety OneKavish is Global Organisational Development Director at Ninety One. During his career he has held a variety of positions from People Director at investment consultancy Redington to equity derivatives trading at ICAP. He’s worked as management consultant focused on people and change in financial services companies, working with some of the biggest names in the industry. Through these many lenses he’s seen first-hand how diversity is the key to the continued evolution of the industry.

Emily WalchDirector, Corporate AffairsEmily oversees the IA’s UK and EU government relations, as well as its internal and external communications. With a career spanning politics, government and financial services, Emily has over 15 years’ experience in advocacy and reputation management. Her previous positions include four years as special advisor to the Business Secretary, Sir Vince Cable MP during the coalition Government, as well as senior roles at the BBA (British Bankers’ Association – now UK Finance) and in strategic consultancy at Teneo Blue Rubicon.
