This role will sit within the Business Management team of Wellington’s Office of the Chief Operating Officer that supports all business initiatives related to the Investment Platform. It also drives integration and ensures Wellington's investment platform is flexible and adaptable to changing client needs and evolving markets.

    Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)

    The ESG team in the Investment Research group resides within the broad investment research resources of the firm and brings in-depth ESG expertise to the investment dialogue. The team is tasked with facilitating the integration of ESG factors into investors’ decision-making processes in order to achieve our clients’ objectives across asset classes and geographies. They do this by producing ESG research and ratings, conducting ESG portfolio reviews with investment teams, researching and executing the firm’s proxy votes, and, in coordination with other investors, engaging with companies on ESG issues for the benefit of our clients. ESG Analysts specialize by sector, which helps investors to consider common material ESG risks and opportunities across the sector, as well as the relative performance of potential investments against a relevant peer set.

    Global Relationship Group (GRG)

    The GRG group is focused on business development and relationship management with clients, consultants and prospects globally. The group includes sales, marketing and client servicing functions which aim to provide market leading service capabilities to a wide variety of client groups. These client groups are served by specialist individual teams that are designed to be able to tailor to the specific needs of each sector and region.

    Trade Coordination

    The Trade Coordination team works closely with our Trading team and is primarily focused on confirmation and allocation of all trades, as well as being on-hand to preemptively address any potential trade issues.     Private & Alternative Assets: M&G is one of the largest managers of private assets in Europe with over £65bn of asset under management. The Private & Alternative Assets group consists of four teams, Private Fixed Income, Real Estate, Infracapital and Alternatives and totals over 500 employees. The teams source and manage private assets mostly on behalf of institutional clients and the Internal client with the assets split about 50:50 between third party and internal funds.

    Equities: Our Equities business manages over £61bn (as of 30 June 2020) both in the UK and globally across a range of investment styles including income, value and growth. We have a conviction-led, long-term approach to investing and believe that we can deliver the best returns for our clients through active management.

    Research & ESG: The Research team delivers M&G Plc’s proprietary analysis and views into the investment process. Fund managers use Research team output to inform portfolio construction and investment decision-making. Analysts use a range of raw materials to form their analysis and views: company financial statements, meetings with company management, news, economic and industry data, ESG data. Analysts express their views in terms of hard metrics such as credit ratings or equity valuations, and written output such as earning commentary or research papers. Analysts also engage directly with fund managers to collaborate in the process of investment idea generation.

    The Stewardship & Sustainability (ESG) team develop and deliver ESG subject matter knowledge within M&G plc. These insights are used to inform both analysts and fund managers on big Sustainability themes. They also help to determine the priorities in our engagements with investee companies, and to shape long-term investment strategies in funds that are targeting a successful climate transition. The team collaborates closely with analysts and investment teams to inform portfolio construction, especially in M&G Plc’s growing range of ESG-aligned strategies.

    Treasury and Investment Office: The M&G Plc Treasury and Investment Office (T&IO) is responsible for the portfolio management and oversight of the internal Life and Annuity Fund investments, including setting Strategic Asset Allocations and selecting Fund Managers. The team is also responsible for M&G Plc Group Treasury activities.

    Cash & Currency: The Cash and Currency team design and manage treasury product mandates for the asset manager and the asset owner as well being the global execution hub for cash and FX markets.

    Public Fixed Income: M&G Plc’s Public Fixed Income business manages approximately £140bn of assets for institutional and wholesale clients. The investment team benefits from the support of one of Europe’s largest in-house credit research teams.     Credit

    The Credit team invest in bonds which are loans that are borrowed for a defined period of time. They act as lenders to companies across a range of markets. Portfolio managers and analysts evaluate each opportunity based on macro-economic, fundamental, valuation and technical attributes in order to assess where price has deviated from fair value.

    Multi-asset and Macro

    This team takes a top down approach to investing and follows the economics and politics across both developed and emerging economies. In doing so we hope to uncover long term investable trends such as an improving growth outlook for an economy which will impact central bank policy or equity inflows. The team aims look through short-term market noise to come up with a central economic scenario (our house view) and strategically allocate our assets in long term positions on that basis.     Real Asset

    We offer investment solutions targeting secure long income, highly diversified portfolios targeting income and growth, as well as specialist funds targeting tactical, higher growth outcomes. We invest in specific sectors, in single countries, regionally or globally, and invest across the real estate spectrum, both directly and indirectly, and in equity and real estate debt.     Job Description:

    Job role: Invesco are delighted to be able to offer four week internship placements with their investment team. These placements will take place during Summer 2021 and will be based at our Henley-on-Thames offices in Oxfordshire. Due to current working conditions resulting from the Coronavirus, there is a possibility that they may need to review the format or timing of these internships nearer to the Summer of 2021.

    The placements are open to undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study. Invesco consider applicants from any and all disciplines; Invesco ask that you are able to demonstrate a strong interest in the asset management industry and the particular asset class that you are applying for.

    Successful candidates may be working on investment projects, research, analysis, modelling or shadowing team members over the duration of their internship.

    Job Description:

    Job role:Wellington Management are seeking individuals in their penultimate year of study to join our 2021 Summer Internship Program. As an Investment Research intern within our London office, you will assist investors in conducting independent investment research while gaining in-depth exposure to the investment industry and our firm. The internship will last between 10 – 12 weeks. If successful, the internship can lead to a full-time offer to join our Early Career Investor Program, which lasts for up to 5 years. There are five primary components to the summer internship experience: (1) project for an investment team, (2) exposure to Investment Science (3) access to investors and business leaders across the firm to better understand our firm and its culture, (4) in-depth exposure to the investment industry, and (5) feedback and mentorship.
