Programme information

You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12 month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform.  75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.

Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role.  We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing.  As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.

Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave.  All roles are based in London. The annual salary for this role is £32,000.

This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.

Responsibilities include

The main purpose of the Emerging Markets Macro Research Trainee is supporting the EM Macro and Strategy team in its regular analysis through the year, with a tilt towards the analysis of the financial market’s dynamics and (Fair Values, Projections). The responsibilities will include but not limited:

• Updating and maintaining macro/strategy models.
• Brief reporting on results
• Writing Macro comments/reports

Requirements

If you are a school/college leaver or graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and has the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:

• Interest in, or studied Economics preferable but not essential
• Basic interest in the main elements of macroeconomics and financial markets.
• Some experience in using EViews and Python
• Enthusiastic, inquisitive and interested in Investment Management
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Highly organised with excellent abilities to multi task
• Excellent time management skills and a team player
• Proactive and at ease with assuming responsibilities
• Detail oriented with good organisational skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) suite of applications
