Product Reporting Analyst
Why do you enjoy your job?
I sit in the product reporting team within global distribution services (GDS) and help to manage and produce the Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs), a regulatory document relating to Invesco funds. With regular fund updates, regulatory changes and alterations in charges and performance, there are regular productions for the KIIDs which has allowed me to take on large responsibility from the start of my contract. Getting to interact with many departments at the company on a regular basis is one of the aspects of the job I really enjoy as well as the people I work with.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
With regular productions and updates, the workload can vary from month to month. As a result, in periods of high workload it is important to prioritise tasks and use your time management skills effectively. Interacting with various departments across the company can be demanding as requests and queries come in regularly during busy periods and it is therefore important to handle these in relation to their importance.
How did you get into your job?
After finishing my economics degree at the University of Southampton in July 2016 I started looking for entry-level roles in the financial services industry. Living in Henley for over seven years, I was always aware of Invesco Perpetual and decided to look for any opportunities within the company which was how I discovered the Investment20/20 scheme.
The Investment20/20 scheme has allowed me to further my understanding of the investment management industry whilst also allowing me to identify the specific areas and departments I would like to specialise in for my future career.
What are your future aspirations?
Spending three months at an investment management company has shown me that this is the industry I would like to stay in for the rest of my career. The culture and people at Invesco are driving my desire to stay on at the company whilst I potentially move into a role more in the front office (investment).
How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?
Joining the Investment20/20 programme has been the best decision I have made in the last couple of years. The 12-month contract has not only allowed me to gain experience in one of the UK’s leading asset managers but it has also given me clearer direction in where I would like to go with my career.
