FRASER SCOTTON
Columbia Threadneedle Investments
Fund Accounting Analyst
School Leaver
Why do you enjoy your job?
I enjoy being challenged, and due to the nature of the analysis I have to do on a daily basis the challenge is always new and interesting. I’m not treated like a school leaver, everyone treats me like another member of the team and I have been fully included in all the projects and processes underway.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Adapting to the change from school was a big concern of mine as I was worried about the responsibilities I’d be given however I’ve found I thrive on the high pressure, deadline focused work I do.
How did you get into your job?
I joined the programme as a school leaver as I didn’t think university was right for me at the time. The process was very easy and all questions and concerns I had were addressed very quickly.
What are your future aspirations?
I hope to stay working in the asset management industry, with no current intention to attend university.
How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?
Invaluable experience at an industry leading firm.
